Aspiring to glow with these essential skincare tips

In our last post you learned about what skin type you have, so what happens now? The key to having radiant, glowy skin relies on the practices and habits that we choose to improve every day and will impact the long run of the skincare journey.

Whether you are a skincare apprentice or an experienced enthusiast, this guide from our experts’ tried-and-tested tips will help you take care of your skin, bring out the best of it, and maintain the glow.

  • Products. There are tons of products in the market, the important thing is to understand your skin and choose products that feel right. One of the ways to figure that out is by getting professional advice. While trying products can take some time, make sure that your routine is simple to start identifying how your skin responds and pay attention to the ingredients to avoid major reactions. The use of too many products can irritate the skin and become overwhelming. Focus on basics like cleanser, sunscreen, and moisturizer.
  • Routine. Create a day and night routine that suits your needs and be consistent with them. Glowy skin doesn’t happen in one day, so it is very important to make a habit and reward yourself with a skincare routine. Remember to apply all products of your routine to the face, neck, and chest.
  • Cleansing and toning. These are essential to any morning and night skincare routine. We recommend washing your face in the morning and before bed with products that suit your skin type and face area, especially when using makeup. NEVER go to sleep with makeup on. For example, the eyes are a delicate area as it has a slightly different pH to the rest of the face and the skin around the eyes is thinner and more delicate so it needs a specific, gentler product for eye makeup removal. Cleansing products then remove impurities and makeup from our skin. If you have makeup on you need a double cleanse. First, to remove makeup then, to remove dirt and impurities from the skin and pores. Wash your face gently with lukewarm water by applying cleanser with circular movements, rinsing, and patting your face with a clean towel. Yes, all of these indications are key. Afterward, always tone with a lotion to refresh the skin, remove the last traces of makeup, dirt, etc, and to rebalance pH after cleansing.  This is the basis for all good skin regimes as it then allows the active ingredients from your serums and creams to penetrate and work better in the skin. You wouldn’t put clean clothes on a dirty body, you shower or bathe or blow dry dirty hair, and you shampoo & condition so why would you apply creams or makeup on dirty skin? You must always cleanse and tone.
  • Moisturize. While this means using hydrating products with ingredients like hyaluronic acid and glycerin, remember that hydration happens from the inside out and water intake makes a huge difference with the skin. By moisturizing at least morning and night, you contribute to less skin dryness.
  • Sunscreen. A very simple yet one of the most important things for our skin is using sunscreen every day, even if you don’t see the sun through the window. The sun might be a beautiful picture to set a happy mood but keep in mind that ultraviolet rays (UV) can have a severe impact on the skin. Let’s not forget about our daily use of screens and the blue light that comes with them, this has become one of the major causes of skin damage and there are special sunscreens that will get you covered, such as Bioline Jatò Sundefense line. Using sunscreen will help to prevent sunburn and skin aging such as wrinkles and age spots. Quick heads up! Reapply 2-3 times a day for better results.
  • Treatments. A little help never hurt nobody, so as much as you can, give an extra boost to your skin with special treatments that will enhance results. For example, facial massages help reduce inflammation by using special movements and the proper tools that increase blood flow. Another option is the use of masks with antioxidants, vitamins, and hydrating ingredients that will keep your skin on top.

This may sound like a lot, but again, small changes every day are what will mark the difference in having the skin you are looking for and feel more confident than ever.
